Seed for Jan 28

It is often said "Try to be like Christ." "Or WWJD," meaning we are to try to act like Jesus. You have probably heard people say, "Just follow in Jesus footsteps" here again here the meaning is imitation (pretending). Try to imitate Christ. Try to be like Him, etc. It is my opinion that here is where we have failed in communicating the "good news" to the Church. We have churches full of pretenders. The Gospel was never about us being "like" anyone, or trying to copy Jesus! But as Paul said in Romans, it is about us "seeing" ourselves dead and Christ Jesus alive in our own living bodies now. Living and walking in faith is not about us pretending anything. It is not about me being "like" anyone. Even the thought of “following His footsteps” is wrong. We are not following behind Jesus, He is in us, looking out of our eyes, speaking out of our mouths, and reaching out with our hands. Christian living is about us making an active presentation of our bodies to the Spirit of God (which is our reasonable service), and allowing God to live out Himself in and through us. If I pretend to be anything that I am not, it will not be long before the truth shows up and you and I will both know I am pretending. Why do so many Christians fail? Because they are pretending to be Christ-like and then trouble comes and the truth comes out of their mouths. It was never about me pretending, but it was always about Him living in me, a reality. It was never about what I can do, but what He can do in me. I must decrease so that He may increase, means less of my will and more of His will in me. Be blessed

Seed for Jan 18

From the wisest man that ever live, King Solomon, we have the conclusion of whole duty of man. This is coming from a man who "had it all," so to speak. He had wisdom, money, power, women, and anything he set his heart's desire upon, and he concluded it all as vanity, like chasing the wind. Solomon said the whole purpose of man is to fear God and keep His commands. Now you and I will never approach the position in life that Solomon had, but surely we can learn from the wisest man that ever lived. With all our getting, get understanding. And we should eat, drink and enjoy the fruits of our labor, remembering our God and His commands. Paul said if in this life only we have hope, then we are most miserable! But we know that there is coming a resurrection, as sure as there is a God, and the Sons of God will rise to inherit the earth and live in a restored earthly Paradise with Jesus for ever and ever, Amen! Seed for Jan 13

What is our purpose in life? It is to know the Living God and to do His will. We spend all our lives wandering around in this life looking for purpose. All the things in life that that world says are so important are really worthless. Vanity, pride, seeking riches, wealth, worldly wisdom, all are worthless if a man never comes knows Jesus and His saving power. I am not talking about a "form of godliness" (religious motion and activity), but a real saving knowledge of who He is and who He is in you. The World says you have to be "weak" to serve the Lord. The World says the things of God are to be lightly esteemed. But quite the opposite is true. Satan has reversed the price tags on everything in life. The things that are not very important to eternity, Satan says are important. And the things that are eternal, Satan says they don't matter.

Job in the Bible put it this way, "Oh, that I might find Him." Paul put it this way, "Oh that I might know Him..."

Only real men will lay down their lives for what the really believe in. Jesus said, "Unless you deny yourself and lay down your life for Him, you will have no part in the Kingdom." I need to know Him, with such intimacy and depth, that our love would surpass that of a woman. He is that best friend that sticks closer than a brother. Be blessed

Seed for Jan 10

One man esteems one day holy and another person esteems all days alike. Let every man be persuaded in his own heart and let no man judge another man in respect to a holy day, (Sabbath) day. This is what the Bible has to say about the Christian "Sabbath" which is Sunday, or what ever day you choose. We do not keep a Jewish Sabbath, sunset Friday night to sunset Saturday night, but has been our tradition to worship the Lord on the 1st day of the week, Sunday. But is that day really holy? Are we to do no work on that day? Is that the Sabbath day the 10 Commandments say to honor? The answer is no. There is not a so called "Sabbath" or holy day for the New Testament church. But the Bible does say if you want to honor one day above another, you have the right and I am not to judge you for that. And if I want to honor all days the same, then you are not to judge me for that. We are not Sabbath keepers of the Old Law, because we live in a new and living way, the New Birth experience. We live in the True Sabbath, (Rest of God) in an experience called the Holy Spirit experience, which is the True Rest, and the day of the week was only a shadow of the true. The Jews practiced keeping a day of the week holy, but He is keeping all of our lives holy in Himself. Be blessed

Seed for Jan 7

2 Chr 20:15
15 And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's.
(KJV)

You often hear Christians saying, "I need to get the victory over this or that." It is not a matter of us "getting" the victory, because we already have the victory. The Lord said for us to be of good cheer He had overcome the World. So the victory is ours, given to us by the Lord. The battle never was ours, but His. So now in our Christian walk, it is not about "getting" the victory, but keeping the victory we already have, given to us by the Lord Jesus Himself. Be blessed.
